appraisal meetings
The ability to plan, prepare and run an effective
appraisal meeting is an essential skill for all team leaders, supervisors
and managers. Many people find it difficult. But - as with anything
else - preparation, perseverance and practice make it easier and
more successful.
What will be covered?
During this course participants will:
• consider the benefits of successful appraisal review
• learn how to overcome the barriers to effective
appraisal review
• use the self appraisal technique
• learn how to prepare for appraisal meetings
• practise carrying out part of an appraisal
• practise giving clear and measured feedback about
performance
• learn how to manage difficult individuals
• set clear and measurable objectives that are in line
with team/departmental objectives and the organisation's
mission and values
• encourage useful and appropriate participation from
individuals being reviewed
• identify relevant training and development opportunities
for individuals.
